FAQs
Everything parents ask us
Why is this better than regular training wheels?
Traditional training wheels only help kids gain the strength and coordination of pedaling the bike. They do not train kids to balance. These allow kids to practice balancing by adjusting the stability.
Once the kids are comfortable with Zen Training Wheels at the lowest stability they are ready to ride a pedal bike.
Where do you ship?
The Zen Training Wheels will be shipped worldwide (areas where USPS ships).
How do I select the size?
Zen Training Wheels are adjustable to fit most children’s bicycles with 12–20-inch wheels. There’s no need to select a different size—simply adjust the mounting height during installation to fit your child’s bike.
Axle compatibility should also be checked before purchasing.
I already have a bike will Zen Training Wheels fit?
Zen Training Wheels fit most 12–20-inch children’s bicycles with a standard threaded rear axle and sufficient mounting clearance.
Geared bicycles require axle extenders, which are not included or sold by Zen Training Wheels and must be purchased separately.
Not sure if Zen will fit your bike? Send us a photo of the rear axle, and we’ll be happy to help you check compatibility before purchasing.
What age is best to start using Zen Training Wheels?
Most children can learn at 3 years old. Some children can learn as early as 2 years old. Every child is different.
Why is this better than a balance bike?
Balance bikes are great however they don't teach you how to balance and pedal at the same time. Zen Training Wheels allows for you to safely learn how to do both.
This is the quickest way to teach a kid to learn to ride. This is the easiest transition to riding a bike with pedals from a balance bike or training wheels. It allows you to practice both balancing and pedaling at the same time.
While some kids transition smoothly from balance bikes to pedal bikes, not all kids are as coordinated as others.
You only need one bike instead of a dedicated balance bike and a regular bike.
